"Estancia La Maria is a ranch at Argentinian Patagonia recognized as an archaeological locality with an extension of 22.000 hectares. It holds a cultural sequence from the late Pleistocene until recent times: 10.999 +/- 55 years 14C BP. 10.967 +/- 55 years 14C BP. 10.250 +/- 110 years 14C BP. 9090 +/- 40 years 14C BP. 7.970 +/- 40 years 14C BP. 7.665 +/- 75 years 14C AP. 4.500 +/- 40 years 14C BP. It been divided in has 12 sectors determined by archaeological, environmental and landscape characteristics, holding 84 caves and rock shelters with rupestrian representations, many prehistoric surface sites, quarries and lithic workshops (Paunero 2000; 2002; Paunero et al 2001; 2002)."

Belize Valley Archaeological Reconnaissance

"The Belize Valley Archaeological Reconnaissance Project is directed by Dr. Jaime Awe (pronounced Hi-may Ah-way) of the University of New Hampshire/ Department of Archaeology. Dr. Awe has been working in Belize for over 22 years and has experience directing investigations at the sites of Cahal Pech, Xunantunich, Caracol, Lamanai, Baking Pot and Pacbitun. He received his M.A. from Trent University in Canada, and his Ph.D. from the University of London in England."

Caracol Archaeological Project

University of Central Florida. "Caracol is the largest Maya archaeological site in Belize, Central America. In AD 650, the urban area of Caracol had a radius of approximately 10 kilometers around the site's epicenter. It covered an area much larger than present day Belize City (the largest metropolitan area in the country of Belize) and supported more than twice the modern city's population. Urban Caracol maintained a population of over 140,000 people through the creation of an immense agricultural field system and through elaborate city planning. Caracol is noted not only for its size during the Maya Classic era (A.D. 250-950), but also for its prowess in war; this includes an AD 562 defeat of Tikal (Guatemala) and a subsequent conquest of Naranjo (Guatemala) in AD 631."

MRP, with more than 300 members, is an independent organization affiliated with Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth, Texas. Western Belize Regional Cave Project

"The Joint Georgian-Canadian Samtskhe Archaeological Expedition is supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and the Archaeological Research Centre of the Georgian Academy of Sciences. Excavations have been conducted from 1993 to 1997 within the village of Atskouri, located on the upper course of the Mtkvari river - better known by its Russian name of Kura - which flows down from the Armenian plateau towards the Caspian Sea. Hofstadir Field Course 2000. "The Field Course 2000 will be based at the excavation of Hofstadir, an early Viking settlement at Myvatn in NE-Iceland. This is a joint project of The Institute of Archaeology, Iceland and NABO. The course involves a combination of training in the field, lectures and optional essay work. Teaching will be held at the Institute's research center at Hofstadir and students will participage in the excavation and environmental research at and around the site."
